The daylight is longer, and unless you have an iPhone or a stupid work computer, your clocks are all caught up with Daylight Savings Time.  Yes, it is a bitch the day it happens.  All that confusion, plus you lose an hour.  But I welcome it!  It’s all about the electrical Spring/early Summer moment when you leave work and you realize it’s still light out.

Even though I’m not a kid anymore, all my report cards have long since been given out and my tongue has started to reject the taste of most summer movies, there’s still a residual kid feeling of that Summer’s a-coming flush of recognition.

I rang in the Spring with a typical but long-awaited and much-appreciated West Hollywood club outing.  You want to see people who are still kids at heart, get some gay friends and head to Fiesta Cantina on a Friday night.  Maybe it was the news that Julianne Moore would play Sarah Palin in an HBO movie (medicine does the gay heart good), but I was in a smiling mood that night.

I have what I refer to as a “conditional love of poppy music.”  Catch me at my computer during the day, you shan’t find me listening to Gaga or Rihanna.  Liquor me up and throw me on a dance floor with beloved friends and watch that tune change mighty quick.

That’s why today’s “Drink On” goes out to my pre-gaming drink, concocted by the delightful Denny Directo.  Like all good pre-game drinks, it’s hard, sweet, and easy to slap together.

Equal Parts ABSOLUT PEARS Vodka + Ginger Ale in a tall glass with ice.

It’s not totally a girlie drink, but it’s not a manly drink.  I’d say that makes it a perfect gay drink.
